Hit and run driver causes bollard fire

A hit and run driver speeding through Preston New Road has struck a traffic island leading to an electrical fire, Wednesday 3 January.

The driver sped Off forwards Southport and fire crews are now on route to the scene to put out the fire before it gets out of hand.

One of the illuminated traffic island bollards was completely destroyed and electrical wiring inside it short circuited causing a small fire to start.
