Hillside Cider and Sausage Festival 24th- 27th August 2018
The Hillside Cider and Sausage Festival returns to the Grasshopper Micropub in Hillside this weekend for the 3rd time. This year it is bigger and better than ever with 30 different real ciders from around the country.
The Cider Festival kicks off at 7pm on Friday and the selection of real ciders will include some interesting fruit ciders: Rhubarb cider, Mango cider, Strawberry cider, Raspberry ripple, Pineapple and grapefruit and a very intriguing Chilli Cider. Of course, there are also the more traditional ciders andcloudy scrumpies including the champion cider of Britain.
Angie the landlady said “This year we are very pleased to have Harry’s Scrummage Cider which has the title of Champion Cider of Britain 2018. We would like customers to decide if they agree and to vote for the Cider of the Festival.”
Other beverages including soft drinks will be offered for those who don’t drink cider.
The Grasshopper has been awarded “Pub of the Year for 2018” by the local CAMRA group and so also features a range of 8 real ales.
A full program of entertainment is planned and there will be a barbeque with some interesting and tasty sausages and pulled pork.
Entry is free and all ciders and perries are very reasonable priced a £1 for a third of a pint.
The Grasshopper is at 70 Sandon Road a short walk from Hillside train station and on the 47 bus route.
