High school leavers and students considering A-levels are being urged to attend ‘masterclasses’ at KGV College in Southport.
Staff at the college on Scarisbrick New Road will be host- ing the classes from January 17 to February 7 for students considering taking A-levels in September 2018.
The Masterclass Programmes will run each Wednesday afternoon from 4-5pm and each week will focus on a differ- ent curriculum area, allowing prospective students to choose from a wide variety of individual subjects in areas such as Science, Maths, Social Sciences, Sport, Creative Arts, English, Modern Foreign Languages, Business and Enterprise.
The sessions, aimed at preparing students for post-16 study, provide the opportunity to have a try at a broad range of A-level subjects, allowing prospective students to extend their knowledge beyond the current GCSE cur- riculum, whilst also offering a glimpse into college life. Each master class will also afford prospective students the opportunity to ask questions about higher level study and meet teaching staff.
Anyone interested in attending should email schools@southport.ac.uk detailing which masterclass(es) they are interested in.
