Herd of seals spotted enjoying a swim in Formby

A herd of around 10 seals were spotted having a swim in the beautiful water on Formby Beach this afternoon (Thursday 11 April 2017).

The Video was captured by Birkdale resident Dickie Davies when he was out with his family exploring the golden sands.

Dickie said: “I have heard that seals often come up to shore but I never expected seeing them today.”

“There was around ten in the herd, it was a magical experience.”

Unfortunately in April a grey seal was found alone and injured on the beach and later died.
