Heavy rain continues to cause flooding across Southport

Heavy rain has caused inlets to burst their banks in Southport with heavy flooding in Banks.

The rain caused British Heart Foundation in Southport to shut due to flooding while roads were covered in standing water.

Residents in the Aveling Drive area of Banks have been told to prepare for their homes to potentially flood after water pumped from nearby farmers fields has caused inlets to burst their banks.

The rain is forecast to continue throughout the night.
