Heartless travellers ruin kids football pitch

Heartless travellers have threatened the weekend’s junior football matches after setting up on Meols Cop Park.

The group of travellers, speaking with Eastern European accents have forced their way into the playing fields illegally and have set up an encampment in the middle of junior league football pitches.

Angry parents and coaches have told the council and the police to get them moved before the weekend but one has already said the ground has been severely damaged by tyre tracks.

It’s thought a court order would not be ready in time to have the travellers move on before the weekend.
