Volunteers at Queenscourt Hospice have left in shock after vandals made off with Christmas tree lights from outside their BoxTree Kitchen in Churchtown..
The lights were worth over £200. Wires have also been cut in an attempt to steal other lights as well.
Sergeant Andy Dentith said: “Stealing from a café generating funds for a charity is a really despicable offence and I would like to appeal to the community to get in touch with the police if they have any information about the incident.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area and noticed anything suspicious near to or outside the cafe since Christmas Eve to contact police. Your information will be looked at thoroughly and could really help our enquiries identify those people responsible.”
Merseyside Police is appealing for the public’s help in tracing the vandals are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious, or been offered the lights for sale.
Police enquiries are ongoing and CCTV opportunities are being explored.
