Louise and the team at Headlines Hair Tarleton participated in an annual event created by Schwarzkopf which runs for 100 lucky salons throughout the uk and Ireland. This event raises money for charity which each salon chooses for themselves. The team at Tarleton very kindly opted to help Woodlands, Louise, the salon team leader said
“Myself and the team at Headlines Hair Tarleton not only use the event to thank our lovely customers for their continued loyalty and support but to also raise money and awareness for a charity.
Woodlands Animal Sanctuary was our chosen charity this year not only because we are all huge animal lovers but because we like to try support our local charities within our close community and surrounding villages.”
During the afternoon staff and customers were able to enjoy delicious homemade cakes and treats as well as Prosecco & strawberries, whilst talking about all things hair related. The salon also ran a raffle, with prizes kindly donated from their very generous friends, family, neighbours and local businesses.
From this, they raised the incredible amount of £387.65, which has been donated to Woodlands Animal Sanctuary and will go directly towards to care of the animals on site. This time of year is very busy and very expensive for the charity, as they deal with increasing numbers of hedgehogs, often baby hoglets at this time of year and kittens. These babies require a lot of time, often with staff members taking the more vulnerable ones’ home with them to nurse through the night, and specialist food which can prove costly to the sanctuary.
One of the charities hardworking trustees, Liz, who is also in charge of fundraising, went along with another of Woodlands long standing volunteers to thank the Headlines team. They took with them one of the hogs who is nearly ready for release.
Liz said “we would like to thank Louise & her team for choosing Woodlands to be their charity this year & also their wonderful customers for their amazing support for this event. Money raised at events like this makes a real difference to us and the animals we care for “.
