Have they bin? major section of town miss out on rubbish collection

If you find your wheely bin and rubbish bags are still outside your home this evening, you aren’t alone.

Sefton Council have admitted a ‘large area’ of the town has missed out on bin collections today as scheduled and have been inundated with calls and complaints.

They have asked angry residents to refrain from calling as they promise crews will ‘endeavour’ to return later this week.

This means residents will need to leave their full bins out on the street until they are finally collected.

A council spokesperson said “a large area in Southport has not received their scheduled bin collection today.

“There is no need to contact us regarding this as the crew will endeavour to return within the next few days.

“Thank you for your patience.”
