Doug Macadam,chairman of Southport & West Lancashire branch of The Campaign for Real Ale recently presented mine host Angela Frith of The Grasshopper, Sandon Rd, Hillside with the Summer Pub of the Year award 2017.
The Grasshopper is a micro pub which opened in March 2016 featuring real ales and cider and has recently increased the selection of cask ales from four to eight under the enthusiastic stewardship of Andrew Frith who prides himself in keeping the beers in top condition.
During the year The Grasshopper runs numerous themed events which are always,enjoyed,well attended and often raise funds for local charities etc.
There is also an outdoor drinking area at the front and back with dogs welcome and the owners tolerated so why not hop down to the hopper you are always assured of a warm welcome.
