Golfers at a top class course in Southport say they are unnerved by plans to introduce a virtual golf experience, saying they hope it won’t attract unwanted guests.
Golfers at the elite Hillside Golf Club say they welcome the idea of a brand be virtual golf swing room at the club but want reassurances that it will remain exclusively accessible to members only.
Other clubs in the North West have begun offering virtual golf lessons to amateurs and party bookings and there are some fears that Hillside may follow suit according to a small number of worried members.
The room will require a brand new extension being built at the side of the club meaning the plans still need to be approved by the council first.
The site will take up the existing golf cart shelter near to the Trainline.
