Glen Francis(21) is Southport’s youngest ever Flower Show Gold Medal winner
As part of the work based advanced apprenticeship level 3 that Glen is working towards he was asked by Myerscough to project manage the construction of one of the two schools gardens ethos years show.
The winning design for this garden was submitted by Shamal Harave of Merchant Taylors Junior Boys School.
Glen’s father Alan Francis took the Challenge Trophy & Large Gold at the 2013 Southport Flower Show so keeping there was added pressure.
Glen 21 said to OTSNews.co.uk “I’m delighted with the result, it was really hard work but united team effort has really paid off.”
The garden was completed in 10 days with help from Myerscough staff and students and Alan.
The garden was awarded a gold medal and Glen received a special recognition award from the judges
