Include-It Mersey, a project that aims to reduce digital exclusion across the Liverpool City Region, has teamed up with The Atkinson to provide technical support to local people. Alongside the usual free digital drop ins they hold in the library, Include-It Mersey are holding a special session focussing on tablets.
The session will take place on Thursday 7th February between 2 and 4pm and is for anyone who struggles to use their tablet or would like a bit more guidance. Debbie, a Digital Champion volunteer will be on hand to assist attendees.
Debbie said:
“Many people receive tablets as gifts for Christmas and are unsure how to get the most out of them so we decided to help! If there is a lot of interest, we will look at running these sessions regularly”.
The session will cover different topics depending on the individual’s needs. Learners need to bring their own tablet with them, ensuring it has enough charge to last the session.
As well as tablets, the Include-It Mersey Digital Champion volunteers run free drop in sessions to help people with the library computers or their own device on Wednesdays, 10am-1pm and Thursdays 2-4pm. They can help with things like how to use emails, how to search the internet, formatting a c.v. and more.
If you would like to come along to the tablet session on the 7th February, please phone 0151 920 0726. All other sessions, simply drop in.
Funded by the Big Lottery and European Social Fund, Include-IT Mersey offers free I.T. courses across the Liverpool City Region for beginners.
