Brazen thieves ram raided a Southport supermarket last night in an alleged attempt to steal a cash machine.
Police are hunting a group of would-be thieves after the Co Op supermarket on Fylde Road was targeted on Thursday night.
It’s understood a van drove at speed into the front of the store to try and break down a series of security shutters, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage in the process.
Detectives believe the planned attack was an attempt to steal a cash machine within the store.
OTS News has contacted Merseyside Police for comment.
An investigation is now underway and CCTV is being looked into.
