Fund raising appeal to help Southport Yorkie

6th December 2018

A fundraising appeal has been launched to help save a blind puppy in Southport.

The family of a cute Yorkshire Terrier puppy called Poppy from Southport are desperate for the funding to save Poppy from going blind.

Owner Gordon Mconnell said “Poppie is a loving family pet and the best friend of our 8 year old Son. She contracted Cataracts in both eyes. This has now made her blind.

In addition, Poppie is also deaf, so she really relied on her sight. As you can imagine, she now has extreme difficulty getting around and is housebound. She needs 24/7 care to enable her to eat/drink, toilet, sleep and move around. Without care she would constantly bumps her nose/head on furniture, doorways, tables, fall down stairs/steps etc.

Poppie’s surgery can restore her sight to full vision. Cateract surgery has to be performed by Specialist Eye Veterinary Consultant and not your everyday Vet.

The cost and care for this £3500 per eye”
