Thousands of aviation enthusiasts, families and tourists are expected to visit the resort between September 6-8 for the annual three day aerial spectacular along Southport’s golden sands.
The popular Friday night line up returns once more with displays from the RAF Typhoon, pyrotechnic laden aircraft and a thundering firework finale, kickstarting a weekend of none stop fun for all the family.
Air Show fans will also be delighted to see the RAF Tucano, Royal Navy Black Cats, Fireflies Display Team, OTTO the Helicopter, the Tigers Free Fall Team and even the amazing Battle of Britain Memorial Flight added to the Friday night billing.
The 2019 show will also boast an international flair with the first ever appearance of the Swedish Air Force Historic Flight display at Southport.
On the ground family friendly displays and stalls return including military tanks, a diving tank, replica aircraft, flight simulators plus the return of the much loved beach explosions.
Cllr Marion Atkinson, Sefton Council’s Labour Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Skills, said: “The 28th Southport Air Show promises to be a fantastic three day event for all the family and I can’t wait to see the huge crowds across the weekend.
“We are committed to offering an incredible events programme throughout the year which caters for all the family.
“This promises to be an exciting weekend for the Southport Air Show and the whole of the borough. If you are planning to attend, make sure to get there early and make the most of your visit to our beautiful borough.”
