Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games

The Olympic Games may be over for another four years, but the Paralympic Games have yet to kick off. Scheduled to run from August 24 until September 5, the event will see the world’s top athletes with disabilities battle to be crowned the best of the best in their country. This year’s games will comprise 540 events in 22 sports from archery and swimming to powerlifting and table tennis. Badminton and taekwondo will also be replaced by sailing and 7-a-side football.

 

2021 World Series of Poker

Poker fans around the world are gearing up for this year’s instalment of the World Series of Poker. Taking place from September 30 until November 23 in Las Vegas, the upcoming tournament is set to be bigger and better than ever before. 88 live events will span the month-long event with the $10,000 No Limit Hold’em Main Event scheduled for November 4 and the champion crowned on November 17. 2021 London Marathon

Usually scheduled in April, this year’s London Marathon is set to run on the morning of October 3. A virtual race will also be held on the same day. Returning athletes will be familiar with the famous route that runs from Blackheath in South East London to The Mall, one of the city’s most iconic streets. Scheduled to take place in one of the country’s, and the world’s, largest cities, São Paulo, it will take place over 71 laps of the 4,309-kilometre Autódromo José Carlos Place, or Interlagos. With Dutch driver, Max Verstappen, the current reigning champion after winning the F1 Brazilian Grand Prix 2019, it is all to play for at this year’s race.
