Southport Comedy Festival Director Brendan Riley said: “We have had an amazing response to the Thumbs Up For The NHS Comedy Bingo night!
“The free tickets were all allocated within a couple of days of them being made available. There are going to be around 300 people there, it’s at full capacity.
“The atmosphere is going to be fantastic!
“The idea for the gig came from Mark and Lyn Cunningham, from Anthony James Estate Agents, who are sponsoring this year’s Southport Comedy Festival.
“When they first got involved, they said they really wanted to put on a special gig for NHS staff and care workers because they felt that they have had it really tough during the Covid pandemic.
“The event was initially due to be held at last year’s Southport Comedy Festival, which was due to be held in October, but had to be postponed because of Covid figures at the time.
“Mark and Lyn were determined to hold it this year instead.”
The NHS staff and care workers attending the Thumbs Up For The NHS comedy night are in for a treat.
Brendan Riley said: “There are going to be some great prizes on the night, supplied by local companies including Vue Cinema, Southport Flower Show, Trattoria 51, Bliss Hotel, and others.
“We are del;ighted to support Anthony James Estate Agents is staging a free night out for NHS staff and care workers locally, I hope they all have a great night.”
Anthony James Estate Agents Director Mark Cunningham said: “This is our way of saying a massive ‘thank you’ to our heroes in the NHS and our care homes for what they have done over these last 18 months. So many people gave so much to keep us all going through these challenging times.
“We will be so pleased for them to come down and have a great night out, on us.
“We have some great prizes to give away on the night.
