Free family fun at Southport College 

Southport College will throw open its doors between 11:00am – 3:00pm on Saturday 9 September for Southport Super Saturday; an access all areas family fun day.

Final preparations are underway for the event which expects to welcome thousands of visitors from across the area.  Organisers are promising a vast array of demonstrations and interactive activities as well as food, drink, live music and entertainment; all for free.

Highlights of the day include the GameCity gaming arcade, free family portraits, a giant inflatable assault course with soft play for little ones, TechnoJam and a Southport Saturday Kitchen.  Visitors will also be able to enjoy complimentary ice-creams from local favourite Triviso Ice cream, BBQ food, live music and art demonstrations, and a host of children’s activities and character fun from Glastonbury favourites Starkidz, CB Balloon Modelling and FancyFaces Face painters.

All subject areas will be encouraging visitors to join in Try It Out sessions including first aid basics, health checks, hairstyling, nail art, musical theatre activities, plumbing Krypton Factor, Painting & Decorating tips and Vehicle Maintenance DIY.  Visitors will also be able to find out about the range of courses on offer at Southport and KGV College with some places still available for September 2017.

John Clarke, Principal of Southport College said “We already welcome thousands of visitors to our open events each year but this is a new event for the College and offers the community the opportunity to enjoy a free family day out. We can’t wait to meet past students who want to see how the College has changed, current students with their friends and families and members of the wider community who want to see what Southport College has to offer. ”

The event will be open between 11:00am – 3:00pm on Saturday 9 September with free visitor parking available onsite.
