Quick thinking police officers have saved two swans from certain death after they were found wandering across the busy Formby bypass.
Officers were called to the Formby bypass near Altcar on Friday afternoon after motorists became concerned for the safety of two swans close to the carriageway.
A spokesperson for Sefton Police said “Among all the other incidents from Friday, was another ‘Hot Fuzz’ moment, where Southport Local Policing Team officers assisted the Southport Swan Rescue Team on the Formby bypass.
“In this instance it wasn’t “just the one swan, actually”, it was two.
“The Swan Rescue team provide a great response where swans are found in distress and can be contacted directly on the numbers shown.”
