Formby church to hold religious service just for pets!

A Formby church are holding a special religious service – exclusively for animals!

In a bid to include beloved cats, dogs, goldfish and more in the eyes of God, St Peter’s Church Hall in Formby are throwing open their doors on Sunday July 9 from midday for a special service.

The scheme is designed to give religious pet owners paws for thought – as well as a way to thank God for the role they play in their lives.

All creatures great and small are welcome – from ponies to puppies and mice to moggies!

A spokesperson for St Peter’s, on Paradise Lane, said: “Pets are a very important part of many people’s lives and we will gather to give thanks to God for the role they play and the joy they give.

“Dogs are trained in lots of different ways from helping the blind, the deaf and the disabled to acting as companions.

“All creatures great and small are welcome to attend, whether four-footed, two-footed or no-footed!

“As the well-known hymn says; ‘All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful, the Lord God made them all.’

“A service that is for all members of our families!”
