Forensics remain at town centre flat after “attempted murder” stabbing

Forensics unites remain at a flat in Southport Town Centre today after a man was stabbed inside the property last night.

Police say they are treating the incident as a murder attempt and have arrested a man in his late thirties.

The victim was rushed to hospital after suffering  serious stab wounds at the Albert Road property around 5pm on Saturday evening

Witnesses told the media that they were stunned to see multiple police cars swarming the Park Crescent and Albert Road area of the town centre.

 The victim was taken to hospital for treatment and is described as being in a stable condition.
