June is turning out to be a fantastic month for football. The Premier League will be back on June 17 while La Liga, Italian football and Major League Soccer will all be back this weekend. Meanwhile, Bundesliga, Korean football and several other leagues resumed weeks ago.
If you’re a football bettor, nothing has changed. Your favorite bookies are back to providing prediction markets weekly. In fact, they are competing to get punters’ attention and that means bonuses and free bets galore. That said, below is a list of the best football games to watch and bet on in the next two weekends.
Mallorca vs Barcelona—June 13
La Liga resumes on Friday 12 with games from Granada vs Getafe and Valencia vs. Levante. Saturday will be jam-packed with football action. But perhaps the most anticipated match is Barcelona’s game against Mallorca.
It’s one of those games everyone has an idea how it will end. Still, Spanish football fans will want to witness it live as Barcelona fights to extend their lead at the La Liga table with a triumph. Mallorca are battling relegation, meaning it will take a miracle to stop first-placed Barcelona.
And seeing that they conceded five goals on their last trip to Camp Nou, bettors can hope for a guaranteed win in this tournament.
Wolfsburg vs Freiburg—June 13
If you’re looking for a game that’s not too simple to predict and so provides attractive odds, try Wolfsburg vs Freiburg. Separated by four points, each side will be pushing for a victory. The hosts have home advantage. But more importantly, they will be hoping to avenge their 1-0 loss suffered last December at the visitors’ home ground.
Since the Bundesliga returned last month, Wolfsburg have won twice and lost thrice. The visitors, in contrast, have lost twice, drew twice and won once. They are yet to win away, and that gives hope to everyone looking forward to back Wolfsburg for a win or draw,
Bayern Munich vs Monchengladbach—June 13
With five straight wins, Bayern are on a roll. Their guests, though, look too flimsy to withstand the forces of their hosts. But this is football, and anything could happen. Gladbach will be confident they stunned Bayern last December with a hard-fought 2-1 win.
They will also be hoping to turn their fortunes around or risk slipping out of the Bundesliga top four. So, if they turn up, they could give fans one of the best matches this weekend. Unfortunately, there’s little happen anything but a Bayern victory will happen.
Napoli vs Inter Milan—June 13
Coppa Italia returns this Friday, with a match between Juventus and AC Milan. But from a betting angle, the match to watch is Saturday’s game between Napoli and Inter. The first leg finished with a 1-0 advantage for Inter. But the battle is far from over, at least if Napoli intends to reach the finals.
On bookie sites, things are no different. Betting websites can’t seem to agree which side is the clear favorite. But luckily, you can use a sports betting comparison tool to discover sites with the best odds for the match. You can compare as many games as you want, so make sure you bookmark the site.
Atletico Bilbao vs Atletico Madrid—June 13
Before the pandemic sent football on an indefinite hiatus, both Bilbao and Madrid were struggling to win games in La Liga. Madrid had at least managed to end Liverpool’s unbeaten streak and kick them out of the Champions League. But in La Liga, they were not the usual selves.
Will we witness a different Atletico Madrid? Or will Bilbao stun them? Time will tell. The match will happen mid-day Sunday and many bookmakers seem to think the best bet is a draw. If you’re hoping for a clear victory, Madrid have a slight advantage.
LA Galaxy vs San Jose Earthquakes—June 14
Major League Soccer matches are broadcast late in the night, so you can be forgiven for not watching this game. But if you’re after a football match with decent odds from the MLS, this is the game.
Most MLS teams, including LA Galaxy and the Earthquakes had played only two games before the league got suspended. That means there’s little information to use to determine teams’ form besides head-to-head records.
Fortunately, this game has attractive odds on many betting sites. So, if you research and find a wager you can predict correctly, consider betting on it.
Manchester City Vs Arsenal—June 17
As the Premier League resumes on June 17, all eyes will be on the game between Manchester City and Arsenal. Pep Guardiola’s men are the favorites on many betting websites. But no one can deny Mikel Arteta’s men have what it takes to clinch a victory at the Etihad.
For starters, Arsenal have won twelve out of their last thirteen games. And that loss was against Olympiakos in the Europa League. City, in contrast, we in great form, beating Real Madrid and Leicester but losing to rivals Manchester United.
A head to head comparison shows Manchester City are the side to back. In fact, they’ve punished the Gunners in their last six meetings, scoring 16 times and conceding only once. That said, a win for Arsenal could earn you up to seven times your bet.
Tottenham vs Manchester United—June 19
Tottenham have not won a game since February 22: lost four and drew once. By comparison, United haven’t lost a game since then: won four and tied once. So, who do you think will win this game?
Some bookmakers believe this is the kind of game you back a draw. But should United bring back their stellar form, they could blow out Jose Mourinho’s men to solidify their top four efforts.
Mourinho, of course, has had a break long enough to re-evaluate his tactics. So, book this game to not only bet on it but to also watch as it unfolds.
