Football fight breaks out in historic Churchtown pub

A heated exchange over football reportedly blew out of control at a Southport pub this afternoon.

Shocking mobile phone footage shows a violent altercation believed to have happened at the Bold Arms in Churchtown this afternoon.

The footage shows a number of individuals involved in a heated argument which descended into physical blows being exchanged and chairs being thrown.

Staff and onlookers are seen attempting to calm the situation down and regain control of the room.

It’s understood the fight broke out during an afternoon football broadcast in the snug room of the historic Churchtown pub.

A video of the incident has been shared hundreds of times on social media.

People are heard shouting ‘get out, get out now’ as chairs are launched across the room and glasses are thrown.
