Firefighters helped rescue a horse trapped in a gate at a farm in Crossens, Southport, on Tuesday, December 5.
Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called to the location at 2.56pm and crews were alerted at 2.58pm. They were on scene at 3.07pm.
One fire engine and the search and rescue team attended the incident and crews helped to free the horse, by cutting the gate.
A vet was called to sedate the horse, which was not thought to be seriously injured, prior to its release.
Fire crews remained at the scene for around 30 minutes.
