Fire crews tackle Longton Bypass fire

Fire crews are tackling a major blaze along the Longton Bypass this evening.

A fire broke out in scrubland at the side ofthe busy bypass just after 6pm this evening.

One driver said they could feel the ferocious heat from the other side of the bypass.

Fire crews from Lancashire Fire and Rescue are currently on scene but finding it difficult to reach the blaze due to overgrown trees and shrubs.
