Fire ‘crews’ rush to Bold Street amid blaze fears

Frightened Bold Street residents were left stunned after a shop was set alight, Tuesday 18 July 2018.

Worried residents said they wanted to call 999 as smoke poured out of a shop on Bold Street and Police and fire crews were seen rushing in.

However it later transpired that the emergency services were part of a European film crew shooting part of a blockbuster film which will be shown later this year.

Camera crews could be seen and actors shouting as production crew made sure the scene was set for filming.

The road is expected to be closed off until tomorrow.

Cars were asked to stop and turn their engines off while filming was being done.

Police say they were aware of the filming and did not respond to any emergency call outs.
