Film crews for new ITV drama spotted around Southport

Film crews have been spotted at several locations in Southport today, including the Prince of Wales Hotel on Lord Street.

OTS understands that a new ITV drama entitled “Ridly” is being filmed across the town.

Crews have also been spotted around the former Southport Lifeboat station on the Esplanade.

ITV News did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The series centers on retiring homicide detective Detective Inspector Alex Ridley who is dragged back into service on a compelling murder case.

ITV says: “Inspired by real life retired detectives re-joining police forces in a consultancy role given increasingly over-stretched resources, Ridley will explore thought-provoking crime stories in an original and distinctive way.”
