People who live, work or study in Sefton are being invited to don their best (or worst!) Christmas jumpers to raise money for good causes in the borough.
Sefton 4 Good will be running its fourth Jumpers 4 Good day on Friday 13th December, when individuals, businesses and schools are being encouraged to wear their nattiest festive knitwear and in return donate money to the charity.
Sefton 4 Good was established by Sefton CVS to make it easier for borough residents and businesses to support local good causes by giving their money, resources, time and skills.
The charity redistributes the money it raises in the form of grants to local organisations, and in particular small groups, or collaborative projects that include small groups.
In the past year Sefton 4 Good has awarded more than £25,000 in grants to recipients including the Plaza Cinema, Sefton OPERA, Veterans in Sefton and the Orrell Trust.
Jumpers 4 Good has been successfully staged in the run-up to the festive season on three previous occasions, and now organisers at Sefton 4 Good are hoping for an even bigger response to the 2019 event.
Sefton 4 Good Support Officer, Rachael West, commented: “No office or school is complete at Christmas without festive jumpers, so our message is show us your best or your worst and help us to raise some much-needed donations.
“It’s a great way to support a multitude of worthy local causes, with all the money that we raise from Jumpers 4 Good going into our next round of grant funding.”
Individuals, businesses or schools wishing to get involved can contact the Sefton 4 Good team on 0151 920 0726 or email info@sefton4good.org.uk.
Alternatively, to donate now text “SEFTON’ followed by the amount to 70085.
