FCFC Round Up

21st October 2019
In glorious sunshine we welcomed lots of new faces as well as our regular footballers between 10  and 12.  Girls from age 3 up to 16 train regularly at Deansgate on a Saturday, following our Clubs Philosophy “A Club for the community that focuses on the enjoyment and development of all players and coaches through the wonderful game of football”.
We had record numbers of girls this week in Nursery, Reception and Year 1 and the girls had a great session with James, playing fun games, whilst picking up ball mastery skills along the way.  Our other groups enjoyed coaching and the weather was unusually mild for this time of year , we had a new spectator on Saturday in the form of Jurgen Klopp.  Jurgen was brilliant having photos with all the children, and we thank him for the time he took with everyone.
U14 Girls were playing at home in the West Lancs League against Euxton Girls it was a hard fought win for U14 girls 1-1 at half time and not at their best, the girls pulled together and won 6-1 with outstanding performances from Ella, Aaliyah and Eva , that’s not forgetting the saves Sophie Hughes made and the rest of the work the team put in.
U15 Girls were away to Woolston from the kick off the FCFC girls really took it to them, every girl went about their job with such maturity not giving the opposition an inch and were rewarded with several early attempts which had Woolston rattled. Ten minutes in and United took the lead with some lovely passing build up play finished off ruthlessly by Freya, 1-0. Shortly after Freya got a second but Woolston replied immediately to make it 2-1 to United.
Going in 6-1 at half time, with a hattrick from Freya, 2 from Anna and one from Hannah.

Second half started as brightly as the first with lots of pressure from the United girls, two more from Freya, one from Anna and a well deserved goal for Martha rounded off an amazing team performance of 11-1.

Girls of the game were Freya for her goals and Alex for her Virgil type performance at the back, but the whole team deserve a mention as today it clicked, passing, heading, pressure, tackling… simply a excellent performance. An absolute pleasure to watch and be apart of.

The FCFC U13 boys were playing at home against St Helens. The boys had a superb start and took a 3 nil lead through Jack x2 and an unfortunate own goal, but St Helens responded quickly the score was all even at 3-3 H-T

Second half saw a penalty awarded and Elliot scored to go 4-3 up and then a great individual goal by the St Helens Striker to tie it at 4-4 with ten mins left.
It was end to end as both sides were going for the win. FCFC broke clear and Dominic was pushed just outside the box as he was shooting, so a free kick was awarded Sam stepped forward and floated the free kick over the wall to clinch the game 5-4.
FCFC U16 Greens recorded their first win against Marshalls U16 with a 2-1 victory, the team and managers were delighted!
FCFC U16 Blacks Won 5–1. It was a credit to the lads who, through traffic issues which meant waiting for a team mate, the blacks started the game with 10 men  and still went 1-0 up, they are now in second position in the League, Players of the Match were Kieran Hall and Nick Moustaka
FCFC U11 Rangers, Played South Sefton Rapids the Player of the match was  Joel Ellis with 4 goals
FCFC U8’s Oranges played Ormskirk WE Clarets team.  The lads, Beau & Bobby, coming close to grabbing a goal.  Reuben put in a tireless performance with Ethan, as always, proving he is a top keeper when he took to the sticks in the 2nd half, only beaten once – after a good 1st half GK display by debutant K’trell.  Ethan was voted MOTM by the lads. With lots of the play we huffed & puffed to no avail.  Again, some positives to take away. Its a tough league they are in, and a step down in a few weeks will do the boys no harm for development purposes
FCFC Nova didn’t have a game this weekend, so arranged a friendly with S&A, and Dev, who has moved out of the area came back to watch his old Teammates in action, which was lovely for all!
The boys were so unlucky to lose out 6-5 with S&A just edging it. Formby’s legs just going a little in the last 10 minutes with them not having any subs probably giving S&A the edge. Although it was nigh on impossible to pick a man of the match as the team were incredible today, Jacob got a well earned hat trick and could have had about eight, giving him the nod for Man of the Match.
The game was everything that grassroots football is about with both teams being an absolute credit to their respective clubs. A brilliant effort and display from the Formby Nova boys!

There were 3 Club derby’s this weekend!

A great game in the U11 girls derby Rockets vs Tornados. Both teams played well in an exciting match. Credit to the club!
The second derby of the Day were the FCFC Rapids v U7 . The rapids didn’t stop running and showed real character, another step forward for them. Well done U7 team, amazing performances from both teams. The score is irrelevant. As long  they are all enjoying it and having fun, that’s the main priority.
The third derby saw FCFC U13 girls teams in action.
Atlanta beat Valencia 5 – 1. Atlanta went 2 nil up with goals from Chloe Price and Ellie Todino. Valencia then pulled one back with a goal from Sarah Allmark. It was a closely fought game until late goals from Arianna Casson, Bo Price and another from Ellie Todino made the game safe.
Atlanta girl of the game was Iris Davidson.
Real U14 won their game at Hightown against Newton 8-0 there were some great goals. Goal scorers were Evie law, Kaya Jones and Jess lynch.
FCFC U10  played Rainford and put on a good display from all the girls and a brilliant and encouraging second half, there were  lots of smiles at the end
FCFC Albion Won 4-2 against Rainford Rangers. Rainford only had 8 players so we lent them a player to make it 9v9 . FCFC were winning 4-0 with 2 Aaliyah Turner Goals, 1 from Grace Malone and an OG , but took our foot off the gas and allowed them to score 2 right at the end. Albion Girl of the game was Ella Stainton
The third derby saw FCFC U13 girls teams in action.

FCFC Atletico U12 drew 3-3 against last seasons champions Crosby Stewart. They scored the equaliser in the last few minutes. A decent result at the end of the day and not one of our best performances.
Second game of the weekend for FCFC U15 Girls saw them take on Formby JSC U16, the girls were firing on all cylinders and secured a clean sheet with a 5-0 win.
Our walking Footballers had their second round of league games for the season , and it was the first trip out for their Right at Home Sefton sponsored Kits, which the team and Manager Carl Griffiths were delighted with.  A special mention to the Griffiths family, they are the first family to ALL be playing for FCFC, Carl in the Walkers, Michele and Charlotte in the Ladies, Alfie in U11 Dynamo and Jess in FCFC Rapids, brilliant to see!!
The Walkers had a record number of players for the games, so there was lots of rotation throughout the morning.  The Team lost the 1st game a very tight defeat to top of the league Brunswick 2-1 the team hit  post 3 times in that game ,  the second game they were up against Everton and unfortunately lost that one, but secured a victory in the last game against Southport 2-0 all the boys played really well and all had a great day.
The boys session on a Sunday is growing week on week, and we are looking at restructuring the timings and the groups to accommodate the changes, we will give further news out later in the week.
