Family of hospital patients say they fear visiting incase they catch COVID-19 as rumours swirl

Worried residents are flooding Southport Hospital phone lines over social media fears that there are patients with coronavirus being treated at the hospital.

There have been no confirmed cases from official sources and Public Health England have said there is currently only one case of Coronavirus in Sefton.

However it has not stopped local residents from panicking and calling the hospital on a daily basis.

One resident informed OTS News that they regularly visit a family member on a ward and are extremely worried that there may be patients in the hospital being treated for the virus.

They said “I’ve not heard for sure but I keep checking because if they confirm a case I won’t be going. As much as I love my brother I need to protect myself and the public too.”
