Family lucky to be alive after shocking tree collision

A family car has been destroyed and the occupants are lucky to be alive after losing control of their car and crashing it into a tree.

The force of the impact on Scarisbrick New Road snapped off a massive trunk of the tree which then smashed into the roof of the Renault Megane.

Luckily the occupants of the car are not thought to have been injured in the freak collision.

Emergency services and a tree surgeon have been called and are now on scene to assess the tree and make sure the area is safe.
