Patients with minor injuries are being told to stave off an A&E visit after Southport Hospital doctors confirmed they’re facing extreme issues.
Southport And Ormskirk NHS Trust said this morning that unless you’re condition is urgent, please consider alternative support or remedial first aid due to extreme waiting times.
Patients are being told if they can instead to call 111 or visit a walk in centre.
A hospital spokesperson said “Our hospitals are extremely busy today with long waits in A&E for people whose condition is not urgent.
“Instead, get help straight away from NHS 111, or visit a nearby NHS walk-in centre, your GP, or local pharmacy.
“Keep A&E for life-threatening emergencies.”
