Ex Southport MEP backs resort Chippy sustainable fish plan

One of Southport’s longest serving Euro MPs has visited the Fylde Fish Bar, on Fylde Road, Southport.

Chris Davies MEP, who grew up across the river in Lytham, topped the Lib Dem North West list in the Euro MP elections last May, was accompanied by Southport’s Lib Dem parliamentary candidate John Wright.

Chis Davies said: “All chip shops should be like this. Fylde Fish Bar, Southport, has gained Marine Stewardship Council certification for the sale of sustainable cod and haddock “because it was the right thing to do”. MSC now certifies sixteen per cent of fish globally. I wish it was one hundred per cent.”
