An ex Councillor and his wife have been celebrating a sparkling occasion – their diamond wedding anniversary.
Father of two Tom Glover OBE, who served on Sefton Council from 1973 to 2012, marked his and his wife Jackie’s 60th anniversary with a family stay in the Lake District.
The couple, from Southport, met in 1956 while at a Saturday night dance at the Southport Floral Hall. They married on May 10, 1958 in Southport and have lived in the town ever since.
Mr Glover served as a Councillor for 50 years both on Southport Borough Council and subsequently Sefton Council; he was Leader of both Councils between 1971 and 1981.
