DETECTIVES have released an evofit of a man who they would like to trace in connection with a stabbing in Leyland last week.
The incident happened between approximately 10am and 10.15am on Tuesday 5 May when the 19 year old victim was at his home address on Ashfields and heard what he thought was the sound of his back gate banging in the wind.
The victim left the house via the back door and headed towards the gate where he was confronted by a man who stabbed him in his torso. Officers believe that that the man may have been trying to break into the property.
The victim sustained minor injuries to his abdomen which required hospital treatment.
The man officers would like to speak to is described as white, around 38 years old with messy dark brown hair, wearing a black fleece jumper with a zip at the top, dark blue tracksuit bottoms, gloves and a dark blue flat cap.
DC 3694 Terry McKibbin of Skelmersdale Police said: “We are keen to trace this man as soon as possible as he may hold important information to help us with our on-going enquiries.
“This was a frightening ordeal for the victim but I would like to remind members of the local community that there are additional patrols in the community and we are determined to find the man responsible for the attack.
“Anyone with information about the man’s identity or about the incident should contact us as soon as possible.”
