A large dog which escaped off lead in Ainsdale has brought the coastal road to a standstill.
Traffic stopped in both directions near to Pinfold Lane after a ‘large brown dog’ slipped off lead from its owner and ran into traffic.
The dog, described as a Bullmastiff style breed, has been dashing in and out of the path of cars on the coastal road and continued to evade capture.
Concerned motorists, passers by and the dog’s owner attempted to calm the pet down in order to capture it
After fifteen minutes the group managed to grab the dog and return it to the owner.
As of 10:30 am traffic, which was blocked in both directions from Pinfold Lane to Station Road., has started to ease.
