Southport-based staff from North West Ambulance Service will once again host a dinner for elderly residents on Christmas Day.
The dinner is a joint project from NWAS paramedic Sara Smith and Steve Bousfield from Merseyside Fire and Rescue. First hosted in the 2014 the dinner has had a two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, but Southport Community Fire Station on Lord Street / Manchester Road will once again open its doors to pensioners from the local area on 25 December.
Staff at the station are pleased to be able to offer a place on their guest list to local pensioners who are likely to be alone this coming Christmas Day.
The dinner will be open to elderly residents based in and around the Southport area of pensionable age, though guests are asked to confirm in advance, as no spaces will remain on the day.
Would-be guests are also asked only to apply if they can make their own way to and from the station as transport for all guests can not be provided by staff.
The dinner is kindly supported by donations from the general public and will feature entertainment from Mandy Owen Music.
Anyone interested in attending or contributing to the day by way of donations should contact Sara on 07526 509 223.
