Emergency services rush to suspected major trauma accident

Emergency services have rushed to Belmont Street following a desperate 999 call.

Three fire crews and two ambulances have attended the scene near to Belmont Street in Southport following reports of a person falling from a roof.

Paramedics have been seen treated an unidentified person for severe injuries.

The road remains closed to traffic while an emergency operation is carried out.

Police are asking motorists to chose alternate routes home during rush hour.
