Emergency services rush to Cemetery road garage after another smash

Police and paramedics have rushed to the scene of a smash outside the Texaco garage on Cemetery Road, Southport this afternoon.

Witnesses told our reporter that the driver of a dark blue saloon collided with a van before spinning and crashing into a bollard, narrowly missing the petrol pumps and causing an explosion.

Traffic is moving slowly in the area but roads remain open. The witness added: “one driver was treated for minor injuries on the scene.”
