Emergency services have closed off part of Southport beach this evening.
OTS News understands a person has reportedly found themselves in difficulties off the coast of Southport.
The incident happened close to Southport Pier just after 6pm tonight.
Police, paramedics, fire services and coast guard are all in attendance.
It’s understood Southport Offshore Rescue Trust have also responded.
An update is expected shortly.
