Edge Hill University have so far refused to comment on claims that Uni security staff have been forced to break up a number of unsafe parties within their campus halls.

OTS News has been contacted by concerned parents of students at the Ormskirk based campus who have been told by their children of a unconfirmed number of parties happening within halls, flying firmly in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.

They allege that at least two parties have been broken up by security staff at Edge Hill while more have been taking place in secret.

Students have been advised not to mingle and maintain strict social distancing within university halls around the country.

It comes as the University and College Union (UCU) criticised management at the nearby University of Liverpool for failing to move their courses online quick enough as Covid cases had continued to rise whilst it continued with in-person teaching.

OTS News directly approached Edge Hill University on two separate occasions to address the allegations. The University have so far chosen not to respond.
