Eco warriors wage war on Sefton council’s food caddy catastrophe

25th April 2019

Eco warriors are continuing their tirade against the council after they ended green food caddy collection.

They say that it suffered from a lack of promotion and wasn’t picked up regularly and it will cause great harm to the environment despite the food waste still being taken away by binmen.

One said “Perhaps it’s the lack of collection in the past that has discouraged people from bothering to recycle food waste.”

“The guidance is to put food waste in your normal waste in future. As I live in an area where we have to place our waste sacks on the pavement for collection, this will mean even more bags being ripped apart by cats and seagulls and resulting in potential rodent infestation.”
