Driver racing down Lord Street arrested after crashing into bus stop

A BMW driver that was racing down Lord Street, Southport was arrested after losing control and crashing into bus stop.11:10pm on Saturday evening (7 January 2017).

A witness reported, “two cars were racing down Lord Street before the black BMW 3 series  lost control and crashed into the bus stop near to the monument”

“The other vehicle left the scene at speed in the direction of Birkdale. The diver of the BMW was arrested at the scene.”

Fortunately no was seriously injured and a police investigation is underway.
