Downing Street protest against Trump will go ahead

30th May 2019
After intense negotiations and pressure, the Metropolitan Police have agreed to allow protesters to head down Whitehall on Tuesday 4 June and hold a rally within a hundred metres of Downing Street while Donald Trump is having lunch and holding a press conference with Theresa May at Number 10.
Protesters will then march to Parliament Square surrounding the area of Whitehall.
Together Against Trump has also called a protest outside Buckingham Palace on the evening of Monday 3 June to coincide with Donald Trump’s banquet with the Queen.
The details of the Together Against Trump protests are as follows:
Monday 3 June, Protest at the Palace: Spoil Trumps Banquet  – 5.30pm, the Spur outside Buckingham Palace, SW1A 1AA
Tuesday 4 June, National Demonstration, No to Trump – Assemble at Trafalgar Square 11am, march to Downing Street and then to Parliament Square.
A spokesperson for Stand up to Trump said: “On 4 June thousands of protestors will be marching to surround Trump as he joins Theresa May on a visit most believe should never have happened. We will be bringing central London to a standstill. By the time he leaves he will know, and the world will know that people here reject him and his toxic politics.”
A Stop Trump Coalition spokesperson said: “This is a victory for all of the protesters who are joining us on Tuesday to make their voices heard against Trumpism. The Carnival of Resistance will be going on yards from the building where Trump is meeting with members of our chaotic government, disrupting his visit and getting our message across loud and clear – Trump and his politics aren’t welcome in the UK.”
