Veteran Southport journalist Martin Hovden writes: Like the Sefton Council elections earlier this month, there were no party activists outside the polling booth in Southport to tick off my details when I went to vote in today’s European Elections.
And the first thing to hit you when you go into the polling booth is the length of the voting paper – there are 11 candidates to pick from.
Do take your time to read all the names and parties and then make your choice.
You have until 10pm to vote.
As some European countries won’t be voting until Sunday, the UK results won’t be announced until at least 9pm on Sunday (so no late night tonight).
Whatever your views, please don’t waste your vote!
