Does Debbie have Southport’s tallest sunflower?

A Southport woman has lain down a challenge to keen gardeners in the resort as she believes she has the largest sunflower in the town.

Debz Baggley says her 9ft 4inch sunflower in her well tended garden at her house in Church Street is the tallest in the town and has asked others to try and beat the impressive flower.

Debz said “my sunflower is over 9ft tall and I’m only 6ft.”

“I want to know if anyone in Southport has one as big or even bigger? It’s got to be one of the biggest in town.”

The challenge has now been set and anyone who thinks they can beat Debbie should post picture evidence of their sunflower in the comments section.
