A BENEFITS cheat who claimed he could hardly walk was exposed as a dog trainer.

Paul Johnson, 53, insisted he could manage just 20 metres and raked in £20,000 in disability handouts.

But sleuths from the Department for Work and Pensions found he ran a training academy in Tarleton, Lancs.

His website boasted of “a high-quality dog walking service”.

In his claim, Johnson had said he needed help going to the toilet and “fell a lot”, Preston crown court heard.

He admitted dishonestly making a false statement and received a ten-month suspended sentence.
