A royal fuss is causing concern in Birkdale.
The resplendent Queen’s Jubilee Nature Trail, which was named in honour of her majesty’s jubilee celebrations is now the target of lazy dog owners who are not clearing up after their pets.
The inconsiderate and irresponsible owners could face heavy fines if they are caught after nature lovers reacted with shock this week when piles of dog poo were found littering the length of the trail which links Southport’s dunes with Birkdale.
One rambler said “it’s a disgrace and someone is going to step in it and slip and injure themselves. Where are the rangers and the dog wardens to sort this out? It’s a mess and it attracts all sorts of nasty wildlife when we are here to celebrate the beauty of nature”
