It’s Dementia Action Week and Alzheimer’s Society Sefton would normally be out and about raising awareness and providing information about local services.
We want to let you know that, although we are unable to provide face to face help, we are here to support you by telephone and email throughout this pandemic.
Linda Lawson, Information Worker for Alzheimer’s Society Sefton said ‘dementia does not stop just because we are dealing with Coronavirus. We know that social distancing can put even more strain upon carers and we are here to provide vital information, answer questions about dementia and give you emotional support during these difficult times.’ She added ‘We understand that lockdown and the isolation it brings is tough for anyone, let alone someone caring for a person with dementia. If you are a carer, you need to look after yourself just as much as the person with dementia. If you feel you are struggling or you simply want a chat, please do get in touch.’
Alzheimer’s Society Sefton have a team of Dementia Support Workers to support you through the current situation and beyond. We also have an E-News service giving you regular dementia related information updates via email.
Anyone worried about their memory, living with dementia or caring for someone with this condition, please do get in touch. Email linda.lawson@alzheimers.org.uk or call Elaine Young, Dementia Support Worker on 07525 403830.
Take positive steps this Dementia Action Week!
